Explain Mat Sabu's claim, CM told
KEPALA BATAS: The state government has been urged to explain why Pas deputy president Mohamad Sabu, better known as Mat Sabu, made a medical claim from Perbadanan Bekalan Air Pulau Pinang (PBAPP) for an injury he sustained during last month's Bersih 2.0 demonstration.
Umno information chief Datuk Seri Reezal Merican said yesterday they had evidence that Mat Sabu had claimed RM8,434.05 for his medical bills.
"The amount needs to be investigated as the actual bill only amounted to RM5,060.54 for his three-day stay at KPJ Selangor Specialist Hospital.
"But PBAPP reimbursed Mat Sabu the amount he had claimed. As PBAPP chairman, Lim Guan Eng should explain what the additional RM3,373.50 was for."
Mat Sabu had met with a motorcycle accident during the demonstration.
He was subsequently admitted to KPJ Specialist Hospital for three days from July 15 to 18 where he had surgery on his right knee.
